What experience do I need to become a Member of MASNRN?

All school nurses in Massachusetts are encouraged and welcomed to join MASNRN. Being a school nurse and having an interest to participate in evidence-based school nursing research is all that’s required.

You can do research too!

Do you have a question about how certain issues are managed in school; thoughts about the most effective treatment; have used a successful strategy when dealing with a health problem? You may have the questions which build potential research studies to support evidence-based practice. Participate in a research project with MASNRN and see where your questions lead!

Responsible Research

Safe, ethical, and responsible research is expected by all who participate in research. An online training program developed by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) educates researchers about the protection and safety of human subjects involved in research studies.  School nurses wishing to participate in research must submit a certificate of completion for this course.  The link below will direct you to the NIH site. This course is self taught and may only take about two hours to complete. It does not have to be completed at one time, you may save your responses and return to continue at any time. A copy of your certificate of completion is required before involvement in any research with MASNRN.

Members of MASNRN are knowledgeable about school nursing practice as well as school nursing research. Please contact us with possible topics which we could provide to your organization about school nursing, school health, practice-based research networks, and the components of research.
